 I got a coredump from amd compiled with "-DDEBUG_MEM --DDEBUG", and 
 run as "/usr/sbin/amd -F /etc/amd.conf -x all -D all,mem,nodaemon" on 
 the console with "/etc/malloc.conf -> JAX".
 
 As before, not a peep to stderr.
 
 A tarball with i386 netbsd-5 binary, coredump, and the last minute's 
 worth of logfile (no trace of the premature end in there, either) is 
 at
