NetBSD 5.99.7 NetBSD 5.99.7 (GENERIC) #6: Sun Feb 8 16:18:37 CET 2009
root@ms:/usr/obj/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC amd64
The wm(4) Support of Intel 82657LM3 (as found in the Intel DQ45CB Desktop
Mainboard and some modern laptops) is relatively flakey. The following symptoms

1) On boot, an ioctl (SIOCSIFMEDIA) fails (invalid argument). Probably just not

2) During operation, the device is always shown as down.

3) Possibly because of 2), you cannot reconfigure your IP address or NetBSD
will end up not using any routes anymore (e.g., you are pingable, but you
cannot reach anybody)

4) As soon as this issues are fixed, wm(4) should be in NetBSD 5.0 to not force
users to track current.
Boot a machine with 82657LM3 using DHCP, try to reconfigure it manually.
