Re: kern/38540 (recent i386 GENERIC kernel cannot boot with VIA chipset)

Synopsis: recent i386 GENERIC kernel cannot boot with VIA chipset

State-Changed-From-To: open->analyzed
State-Changed-By: joerg%NetBSD.org@localhost
State-Changed-When: Wed, 12 Nov 2008 20:39:53 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
Both this and a similiar machine from jakllsch use ACPI PCI interrupt
devices even when in IO-APIC mode.

This creates the obvios issues as the interrupt handling is only written
for the ISA IRQs, so this needs some work. The panic is also bogus,
as IRQ and line are not necessarily related for IO-APIC mode.
