 In perfect world that "garbage in, garbage out" reasoning would be good
 enough. However, this isn't perfect world, there aren't applications that
 are *perfect*.
 
 Let's hope that this function isn't ever used in mission critical
 environments like hospital devices, aeroplanes, satellites, nuclear plants
 etc
