    Using an ident longer than a certain length in an i386 kernel config
    file (which is otherwise pretty much GENERIC) causes the uname
    system call in that kernel to fail with "cannot allocate memory."
    Add this line to your kernel config:

        ident "4-PROD-NOXEN-MP $Revision: 7280 $ $Date: 2008-08-14 19:01:43 
+0900 (Thu, 14 Aug 2008) $"
