Calling dlopen on aborts the program with an "abort trap" fatal 
error.  The problem seems to be in

Install libcairo from pkgsrc-2008Q1 or pkgsrc-2007Q4.
Compile and run this program:

#include <dlfcn.h>

int main ()
        void* ret = dlopen("/usr/pkg/lib/", 0);
        return 0;
This bug is apparently not present in -current.
