>Description:

After a fresh install of NetBSD/alpha from CD (iso has been taken
from releng 20080321), the boot process from disk failed with:

NetBSD/alpha - 4.99.55 FFS Primary Bootstrap
Can't open /boot

The disk was formated with FFSv2, but sysinst installed the bootblock
for FFSv1.

The root cause is very likely the missing bootxx_ffsv2 in /usr/mdec
on the install cd. And then sysinst needs to be verified that
it really installs the correct bootblock rather assuming
ffsv1 is always the disk filesystem.

Workaround:
Boot from install cd again, mount the disk and run

installboot /dev/sd0c /mnt/usr/mdec/bootxx_ffsv2

then booting from disk again, NetBSD boots fine:

NetBSD/alpha 4.99.55 FFSv2 Primary Bootstrap
jumping to entry point...

NetBSD/alpha 4.99.55 Secondary Bootstrap, Revision 1.13

...

>How-To-Repeat:
Do a fresh install on NetBSD/alpha, use FFSv2 on all slices.
After install is done, boot from disk.
