 Ah ha!  I was afraid there might be a reason other than a simple  
 omission of the necessary hooks as to why some interfaces like bge(4)  
 were not used as entropy sources.  I was hoping it was just because  
 of (minor) performance issues, but this sounds a little more severe.
 
 Is there any simple flag that can be checked to see if interrupts are  
 currently polled or not?
