        sometimes wm fails to initialize media like the following.
        once it happens, "ifconfig wm0" shows "media: Ethernet none".
        it seems that i can send and receive packets on the interface.
        but its performance is very bad.

        linux 2.6.25-rc1-mm1 on the same machine seems to work fine.
        (until it crashes for a bug which i don't think related to this
        problem.)
