 The usual aproach in netbsd is pretty simple: the first thing to try is:
 
    man rc.conf
 
 and in this case it works pretty well. You can also read the NetBSD guide
 at http://www.netbsd.org/docs/guide/en/ - it explains a lot of the details
 and should get you started.
 
 You should also consider to join the netbsd-users mailinglist (see
 http://www.netbsd.org/mailinglists/), it is the canonical place to ask this
 kind of questions.
