 >Description:
The problem remains. I made another attempt with the 2,5" drive: The =
 system
stalled when I only touched the usb-socket with the outer (shield) metal
without actually making contact through the pins. I assume there was a
static discharge - I held the 2,5" drive in my hand when I touched the
 socket.

After reboot I made a second attempt by plugging the 3,5" drive in first =
 and
leaving it pugged in. This time I was able to actually connect and mount =
 the
 2,5" drive. It's formatted MS-DOS, I copied a file from the 2,5" =
 usb-drive
to /tmp, but the system response was extremely sluggish. Echo of my
keystrokes was very irregular, delay between 0 and 20 seconds, output =
 from a
command took up to one minute. Below is a term-shot of
 # systat vmstat 1=20

Even after I unmounted and unplugged the usb-drives, the system =
 perfomance
didn't return, the shutdown took about ten times as long as usual.=20

 >Fix:
Before the attempts described above, I tested a lot of connecting, =
 touching,
mounting and copying with usb-drives under netbsd-GENERIC.MPACPI - with =
 no
 problems.

 Kind Regards
