>Description:
The ATI IXP AC97/auixp sound system does not work, no sound comes out although it seems to be configured properly. Any program trying to use the audio device hangs or reports time outs or just remains silent. Trying cat file > /dev/audio hangs until you press ctrl-c. I've tried compiling custom kernels to solve this but it didn't help (got some acpi devices working though). The computer is a HP Compaq nx6125 laptop with Ati xpress 200 chip set, Turion64, Radeon X300 and 512mb ram.
The same problem is also with i386 3.0.1, 3.1 and 4.0BETA releases.
>How-To-Repeat:
Always repeatable with my nx6125 laptop.
