 this also happened on a beige G3, but not on a B&W G3.
 - nfs had nothing to do with it, I got the SIGILLs also when swapping 
 to a USB or IDE disk and with an IDE disk as root
 - some commit in the last few days appears to have fixed it, I can't 
 reproduce it on the G3 anymore. Need to check on the iMac.
