 For msdos file systems there is 'prior art' - presumably correctly
 identified in that PR, although it doesn't contain details about
 the mbr (especially with extended partitions).
 
 For UFS I'm not 100% sure that some of the patches lurking in the PR
 database really DTRT.  I think I'd rather the filesystem disk layout
 were independant of the sector size on the media itself.
 
 Also where do we put the netbsd label?
 Does it go at the same byte offset from the disk/partition start?
 Or in the same numbered sector?
 Or ???
