Hey Julian,

-Thanks for replying.

ya I did see your reply post on the NetBSD "gnats-bugs" message board/newsgroup, i was expecting an email reply at first -I should have checked the board initially.

-my freind has a TT030 (with 8 Megs Ram, and 2 internal scsi HD's), along with a dozen other Atari's, but he is in Montreal, and I'm in Ottawa and I'm helping him ( a lot of help I am ? :). He just recently got Internet, and i'll be bringing him the NetBSD 3 CD's I burnt for him, unless he's burnt them already.?

anyway, the ways it sounds in your instructions below, is that instead of "booting" directly from the floppy, the kernel,... is loaded (via loadbsd.ttp) into memory and the sysinst is started from that ?

Along with the "RamDisk" Quick installation using CD as the media in the NetBSD 3.0 installation/doc, and with the boot method you recommend below this will work barring any hardware/driver problems. ?

we'll let you know.

much appreciated.

NetbSD 3.0 problem for Atari?
>
> Hi,
>
> I guess that my reply didn't arrive, so I'm sending it directly this time:
>
> Because of a problem creating the boot floppy images, these aren't provided
> at the moment. It's a bug that the documentation still mentions them. The
> workaround is to unpack and copy the BOOT or BOOTX kernel from the
> binary/kernels directory to a floppy, along with loadbsd.ttp from the
> installation/misc directory. The other utilities are also in the
> installation/misc directory.
>
> J
>
> --
> My other computer also runs
