 Have seen probably the same problem when installing on a Dell Optiplex GX 620
 (Intel 82801GB/GR EHCI controller).
 
 A amd64 build installed fine but the x86 build locked on the initial boot
 language selection screen. Building a distribution with ehci disabled
 sorted the problem.
