 As jason said, it's properly detecting the PHY.
 Did you try manually setting the media to 1000baseSX-FDX or 1000baseSX ?
 Some switch refuse to get the link up if the remote end isn't configured
 the same way (e.g. 1000baseSX-FDX on the switch and auto on your adapter).
