 I had quite forgotten this PR was still active.  Frank fixed this some
 time back, in this instance it was not a IPI problem but a bug in
 growing the pmap entries (I think that is what it was).  Once this was
 fixed my machine stabilised under load, I routinely build with -j 6
 without issue now.
