Here is the screwy part -- once the NetBSD kernel loads into memory for setup it discovers and enables the USB device and even the nic itself but then the nic is then disabled. NetBSD sets the device name as uax0 and proceeds to setup. And with the device disabled I was unable to do any network installations. Unfortunately, since I have no CD-ROM and no network connectivity I had to bail on the setup.
