Right now the fix is only on -current, though I'll package it up for 
netbsd-3 shortly.  The fix for this case is rev 1.140 of 
sys/ufs/lfs/lfs_vnops.c , which pulls up to the netbsd-3 branch without 
difficulty; or if you like you can wait for me and releng a bit, and test 
again once it's in the branch :^)
