_/\_ If it works and its stupid, then it is not stupid.
>Environment:

System: NetBSD 2.0_RC1 bootfs.big i386
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:

During install random tarballs aren't completely unpacked. The error:

Command: progress -zf /mnt2//i386/binary/sets/games.tgz tar -xepf -
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
  0% | | 0 0.00 KB/s --:-- ETA
gzip: invalid compressed data--crc error
tar: End of archive volume 1 reached
tar: unexpected EOF on archive file
  2% | | 65536 792.51 KB/s 00:08 ETA

Another try, this time without progress bar:

Command: tar -zxvepf /mnt2//i386/binary/sets/comp.tgz
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[some files unpacked ok]
./usr/lib/libcdk.a
./usr/lib/libcdk.so
./usr/lib/libcdk_p.a
gzip: invalid compressed data--crc error
tar: End of archive volume 1 reached
tar: ustar vol 1, 1281 files, 23133993 bytes read, 0 bytes written in 21 secs
     (1101618 bytes/sec)
./usr/lib/libcdk_pic.a tar: Unexepected EOF on archive file

  - I checked the files on the cd with tar and pax, they are
    perfectly ok.
  - I tested sysinst and the files in vmware 4.5.2 since i don't
have real hardware available right now. I doubt it is vmware's
    fault but who knows.
  - Everything else works perfectly nice so far.
  - You can grab the iso-image i made here (not before 15:00 UTC):

>How-To-Repeat:

  - build.sh a release for i386
  - make a bootable iso-image with bootbig.fs
  - install

>Fix:
  - no fix known
