And what's the problem ? SunOS4 on sparc always behaved this way, and I suspect
other Unix boxes too. It's quite usefull to see if the box rebooted after
a panic for example.
This usually doesn't happen on PCs because the BIOS clobbers the
RAM and the message buffer is zeroed out. But it's not a bug to keep
the message buffer intact on the few well-behaved PCs, it's a feature :)
