>Description:
The auich driver doesn't handle Compaq AC-97 sound cards correctly. This seems
to be a hardware problem, but I think a quirk should be possible. I heard that
the problem is corrected in current but it could be ported to NetBSD 1.6.2.
Here is dmesg output :
auich0 at pci0 dev 31 function 5: i82801AA (ICH) AC-97 Audio
auich0: interrupting at irq 11
auich0: ADS96 codec; headphone, Analog Devices Phat Stereo
audio0 at auich0: full duplex, mmap, independent

The card seems to be overclocked, and it's really useless...

By the way, the mixerctl outputs.headphones.mute should be off by default.

>How-To-Repeat:
Try to play any audio file on NetBSD/i386 1.6 (1.6 branch) with an i82801AA
based sound card.
