I don't remember where I originally fetched it from, but not it is fetched
from ftp.funet.fi. I realise that re-fetching the distfile is the right
solution: After doing this, mailserv now compiles. However, I checked the
archive I had fetched a few days ago, and it seemed alright to me too
(i.e. I could entirely unpack it without any problems -- only patch-aa
could not be applied).

And yes, with the recently fetched distfile everything is working fine
now.
