The emuxki driver for "SB Live!" and other soundcards is crappy. The sound
stucks and it is not capable of a multiple-source playback. The /dev/audio
file cannot be accessed by more than one application.
Launch mpg321 and xmms. The latter will not work.
There is a implamentation from Creative. It is open-source and used by FreeBSD.
It has not the 'flaws' as the emuxki.
The driver is called emu10k. It is used in Linux as the default one.
Sometimes, apps crash while trying to access the audio-device more than one time.
