>Description:
I realize NetBSD is shipping the version 1.2.2 of the html2text utility ("textproc" series). This version, released in mid-2000, was the last one maintained by Arno Unkrig and published by GMRS.

Since September 2000, html2text is living at:
http://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~mbayer/tools/html2text.html .

Sources are also available via aFTP on ibiblio.org at:
ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/apps/www/converters/ .

The latest version is: 1.3.1 (additional patches A+B available). Several bugfixes have been done since 1.2.2(a).

License: GPL.

html2text-1.3.1 is beliefed to compile at least with both, gcc-2.95.X and gcc-3.X on Intel-x86 systems. Other compilers might not work and I have no reports on successfull ports to other UNIX platforms, nither.

Please consider to update. You might also wish to update your links, as the site gmrs.de is not longer in use.

If you then send me a link for the (pre)compiled BSD-packages, I'll add it on the program's homepage.

If you apply patches to the source code, please let me know.

Regards,
Martin Bayer
