I should point out that this does *not* require pthreads, so it is safe to
turn on even in light of the native pthreads implementation's current
shortcomings.  (It's libmilter, which must be built and installed
separately, that requires pthreads; however, not all milter servers use
libmilter and therefore the milter protocol itself is independent of
pthreads.)
