This also happens for amd host maps.

	insert this line into /etc/amd.conf:

        [ /n ]
        map_name =		/etc/amd/amd-n

	insert these 2 lines into /etc/amd/amd-n

	/defaults	opts:=rw,intr;fs:=${autodir}/${rhost};type:=host;rhost:=${key}
	*		;

    $ ls /n/localhost/
    ls: /n/localhost/: Input/output error

    Mar 17 10:44:44 capsicum amd[28264]: mountd rpc failed: RPC: Unable to receive
    Mar 17 10:44:44 capsicum amd[28264]: mountd rpc failed: RPC: Unable to receive
    Mar 17 10:44:44 capsicum amd[179]: Process 28264 exited with signal 13
    Mar 17 10:44:44 capsicum amd[179]: mount for /n/localhost got signal 13

Host maps are very useful in general and it is a shame that they
stopped working.
