System: NetBSD rainier.reedmedia.net 1.6 NetBSD 1.6 (JCR-20020927) #3: Sat Sep 28 13:40:20 PDT 2002 reed@rainier.reedmedia.net:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/JCR-20020927 i386

>Description:
www/ns-flash is old:

flash_5.0* is old. The new version is install_flash_player_6_linux.
Which works fine under NetBSD/i386 1.6 (of course with compat_linux)
and works fine under Linux too.

Package should have new name. The plugin is not for "ns-" (Netscape) only.
I think it should be called: flash-player (like Macromedia calls it),
or flash-plugin.

It should install to its own directory, like:

/usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/
/usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/plugins/
/usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/plugins/libflashplayer.so
/usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/plugins/flashplayer.xpt

Then symlinks pre-created for Konqueror, Mozilla (includes galeon),
Phoenix (/usr/pkg/lib/phoenix-linux/plugins/), opera, and netscapes.
Create these symlinks even if the browsers are not installed!

For example, my /usr/X11R6/lib/mozilla/plugins/:

flashplayer.xpt -> /usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/plugins/flashplayer.xpt
libflashplayer.so -> /usr/X11R6/lib/macromedia-flash/plugins/libflashplayer.so

Upgrade to new version.

Change package name to be more clear: flash-plugin.
(flash-player makes me think of stand-alone.)

Install to own directory and
Create symlinks.
