>Description:
When installing NetBSD 1.6 to a machine having Intel's pro/1000-series
card as NIC, the installation runs into problems with missing makphy
in INSTALL kernels. With gigabit speeds, the ukphy driver does not seem
to handle correctly the wm card, but reports errors. The wm(4) driver
is included in INSTALL kernels, but the needed PHY (mak) is not, thus
causing problems.
>How-To-Repeat:
Use Intel's gigabit NIC and perform a network install, over for example FTP. Installation fails sporadically at some way through the process.
I was unfortunately unable to catch the error messages from sysinst.
Using home-made kernel with added makphy support solved the problems.

>Fix:
Add makphy to the list of supported PHYs in INSTALL kernel.
