Machine: sparc
>Description:

when attempting to upgrade a working older orinoco-base card in
my sparc classic with nell to a newer prism2.5 based intersil
card, wi stops working. there is a diagnostic that it fails to
reset in wi_reset() at boottime and also if i try to configure
the device... it seemingly does not talk on the network at all.

dmesg for working card:
	wi0 detached
wi0 at pcmcia1 function 0: TOSHIBA, Wireless LAN Card, Version 01.01
	wi0: 802.11 address 00:02:2d:52:d7:01
	wi0: using Lucent Technologies, WaveLAN/IEEE
	wi0: Lucent Firmware: Station (6.10.1)
	wi0: supported rates: 1Mbps, 2Mbps, 5.5Mbps, 11Mbps

dmesg for non-working card:
	wi0 at pcmcia0 function 0: INTERSIL, HFA384x/IEEE, Version 01.02
	wi0:wi0: command timed out, cmd=0x0
	wi0: init failed
	 802.11 address 00:02:6f:01:c9:25
	wi0: using RF:PRISM2.5 MAC:ISL3873B(PCMCIA)
	wi0: Intersil Firmware: Primary (1.0.7), Station (1.3.6)
	wi0: supported rates: 1Mbps, 2Mbps, 5.5Mbps, 11Mbps

kernel message when atempting to configure the device with ifconfig(8):
	wi0: init failed

>How-To-Repeat:
