	The pkg_comp manpage says that REAL_DISTFILES_OPTS and REAL_PACKAGES_OPTS are mounted read-only by default, while the config file mounts them read-write. Likewise, the manpage says REAL_PKGSRC_OPTS and REAL_SRC_OPTS are mounted read-write while the config file says read-only.
