It would be nice if a newer version of snd was made available. 
Snd 5.9 is available from: ftp://ccrma-ftp.stanford.edu/pub/Lisp

Also, since you'll be making changes anyway, please change the
installation directory for the documentation from share/doc/html/snd
to just share/doc/snd. (The html directory only makes it harder for
people to find the docs, which is tough enough given that there's no
man or info pages).
