System: NetBSD hrududu.wongs.net 1.5 NetBSD 1.5 (HRUDUDU) #8: Tue May 15 04:47:24 EDT 2001 hackerb9@hrududu.wongs.net:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/HRUDUDU i386

>Description:

Maelstrom is a game similar to asteroids. Besides being a great game,
Maelstrom is also a nice test of the SDL library.

Maelstrom comes in two flavors: x11 and SDL. The x11 version, which we
already have in pkgsrc under the name "games/maelstrom", is older and
the audio is terrible under NetBSD (chopped samples and digital
noise).

The SDL version has some nice features (such as being able to change
the X resolution), and the audio is less buggy. (Instead of noise, the
audio lags about 4.5 seconds; I believe that the lag may be from a
problem in the way the SDL is compiled for NetBSD).

I have created a package for the SDL version of Maelstrom.

>How-To-Repeat:

>Fix:
Please download the games/maelstrom-sdl package from here:

       http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~bbb/2002/maelstrom-sdl.tar.gz

(Note that I have put "CONFLICTS=maelstrom-x11-[0-9]*" in the
Makefile. There currently is no "maelstrom-x11" package. Please see my
next pr.)
