>Description:
Samba 2.2.2 from pkgsrc builds fine, but the rc.d scripts respond $smbd and $nmbd are not set correctly.
>How-To-Repeat:
copy /usr/pkg/etc/rc.d/{samba,nmbd,smbd} /etc/rc.d ; /etc/rc.d/samba start
>Fix:
My fix was to hardcode the names into the rc files in place of $name, obviously not the appropriate fix. I'm probably overlooking something simple.
