Wouldn't the right thing to do be to add id3ed as an option to
abcde and send the patch back to the original author? (It should be
pretty clear how to do this in abcde where the tagging commands are
defined.)

id3 is a really simple program, and should be available from the
same place as abcde. It builds from source on NetBSD without a
hitch. If I don't see anything more about this before this weekend,
I'll pkg-ify it.

(Fwiw, I'm not using the pkgsrc abcde, but one I hacked up for my
own use, largely to make its user interface even more hands-off.
But that shouldn't affect id3 in the least.)
