System: NetBSD this 1.5W NetBSD 1.5W (THAT) #50: Tue Jul 31 03:09:53 EDT 2001 root@this:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/THAT i386

>Description:

my friend joe booted a machine (mac tibook, from a custom kernel with
a miniroot, etc) and wanted to mount some mfs somewhere. we had no
idea what to do. some searching for how to do so was fruitless (a
later search showed two example in a few of the walnut and next68k
fstab example files).

>How-To-Repeat:

boot a machine with no swap configured
try to mount an mfs file system
scratch your head and say wibble

>Fix:

one can apparently mount "swap" even in the absence of any configured
swap devices. the documentation for mount_mfs(8) should be altered to
reflect this. i will do this later when i have better words and
grammars to use for this.
