When editing a short 10-line file, I tried to insert a few lines of
text (euc-jp) using the :r command.  After a second or less, the serial
console completely froze, and a message that a "Segmentation fault
occured: core dumped" appeared.  Somewhat later the prompt appeared on
the screen, but the keyboard was completely unresponsive. 
>How-To-Repeat:
I did it a second time to be sure.  Simply "vi somefile" (vi aliased to:
/usr/local/bin/nvi-euc-jp), press ":" => "r" => "file" => [Ret].  The
file I tried to insert was:
