When i am installing Netbsd 1.5 from FTP via the 2 boot floppies i load all the required installation sets, once i get to the final part of the install setting the time and root password i get problems. In the timezone section, i cannot select anything other than GMT, the screen appears to flash weirdly and jumps through the menu items quickly, so i just select GMT. The next section tries to set the root password. This fails saying that it cannot find a file - looks like it cant find passwd. At this point the system sanity check fails. So i reboot and at which point SRM cannot boot, it says it cant find a valid boot partition.

Tried repeatedly installing. Always get the same issue.
