System: NetBSD froopie 1.5R NetBSD 1.5R (MYCUSTOM_2) #0: Mon Feb 5 19:48:32 EST 2001 root@froopie:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/MYCUSTOM_2 i386

Lynx cannot function as an ftp client in its precompiled
binary package form. Built from pkgsrc it surmounts this lack if the env var
USE_INET6 is first set to 'no'.

Install the package and try to establish an ftp connection.
Notably, passive ftp fails even if the appropriate entry in lynx.cfg is

"set USE_INET6 = no" before making pkg.
