System: NetBSD towers-of-dub.eterna.com.au 1.4Z NetBSD 1.4Z (_towers_) #43: Fri Jun 2 23:31:34 EST 2000 mrg@towers-of-dub.eterna.com.au:/orb/y/_towers_ alpha

>Description:

	i upgrade my shark (arm32) to netbsd-current and now the audio driver
	no longer is able to set the volume to the previous maximum. have been
	using the following to raise the volume of the audio device:

		> audioctl -w play.gain=240

	however, when i run this now it sets play.gain to 127 only:

		> audioctl -w play.gain=240
		play.gain: -> 127

>How-To-Repeat:

	upgrade shark mp3 player to netbsd-current and wonder why the audio is
	so much lower again than normal (which is already soft).
