"You know, I think I can hear the machine screaming from here... \
'help me! hellpp meeee!'" - Heather Flanagan, 14:52:23 Wed Jun 10 1998
>Environment:
System: NetBSD greybeard.int.neutralgood.org 1.4Z NetBSD 1.4Z (GENERIC) #12: Sat May 27 16:55:41 PDT 2000 root@swinger:/u1/snapshots/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386

>Description:

I've now gotten two hangs on 1.4Z machines. I'm loading the machine down
with something (a kernel compile) and I startx (which causes much swapping
and knashing of teeth). Bang, the maching hangs and nothing works (except
the reset switch).

This has happened twice (except on the smaller machine I started top
and not X). Note that ironwood is stable enough to compile kernels with
no crashes, except for the one time when top crashed the box. Kernel
compiles take about a month on this ironwood (8 megs of RAM, 2.5 after
the kernel loads, and make and cc both take up about 4 megs -> swapswapswap).

I'm using the May 27'th i386 snapshot.
