System: NetBSD lyssa.zhadum.de 1.4ZC NetBSD 1.4ZC (LYSSA) #0: Mon Jun 12 12:50:59 CEST 2000 email@example.com:/src/sys/compile/LYSSA i386
After replacing the Pentium II 400 on a BX board in my system with an
Athlon 700 on a KX133 board I observerd two problems:
1.) eap(4) didn't work correcty with the Soundblaster PCI 128 anymore,
there were several clicks during audio playback.
2.) bktr(4) wasn't able to show a fullscreen life picture anymore.
Both boards worked absolutely fine with Windows 98 SE on the same
hardware. Replacing the board again with a Pentium III 700e on
a BX board solved both problems for NetBSD.
Because there were also reports about problems with boards based on
VIA's VX133 chipset I suppose a problem with their south bridge and
NetBSD's PCI support.
Try to use a Soundblaster PCI 128 or a Hauppauge WinTV PC in a board
with KX133 chipset.
Sorry, I don't know.
