  I agree completely.  In general, I strongly prefer putting multiple related
configuration files into a subdirectory instead of polluting the top level
of /etc, so the move is one I applaud (though I would have chosen /etc/sendmail).
(My only complaint regards the restriction imposed by the startup script that
/etc/sendmail.cf must be a black hole in the filesystem namespace.)
