NetBSD mathsun2 1.4L (GENERIC) #1: Fri Oct 22 21.56.26 MEST 1999
root@flambard:/usr/src/sys/arch/compile/GENERIC sparc

>Description:

Fetched the file:

sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk:/public/Mirrors/ftp.netbsd.org/pub/
NetBSD/NetBSD-1.4/source/sets/syssrc.tgz

Untarred it from /
cd /usr/src/sys/arch/sparc/conf
config GENERIC

Got error message

../../../../conf/files:385: syntax error

I think the offending line reads

pseudo-device vnd: disk

which does seem to contradict the output of man 8 vnd

>How-To-Repeat:
as above

>Fix:

Unknown. It occurs to me that I might have incompatible source & binary
packages, but there is nothing in the install docs to show what source
package I should have fetched to go with the existing binaries. These
came from .....NetBSD/arch/sparc/snapshot/19991024
