dhclient is called from /etc/netstart before /var is mounted, thus disabling
it. I assume this is because the script assumes that /var is not a separate
partition or something.


Boot with dhclient enabled via rc.conf


mount /var if /var is a seperate partition or lives on a partition that's
not yet mounted before calling dhclient.
