Okay, we should use some quick workaround for this by 1.3.  It is still
reproducable, but only on little endian systems (i386 in particular) from my
perspective.  (Maybe my sparc and amiga are just lucky?)

Any objections to preinitializing va_nlink to 0 until such time as we have a
better implementation of calculating nlinks for unionfs?
