System: NetBSD pattern 1.1A NetBSD 1.1A (PATTERN) #1: Thu Feb 8 22:27:08 EST 1996 jtk@pattern:/u3/NetBSD-current/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/PATTERN i386

Something about the fixes for silence playback and/or block size
adjustments cause the GUS driver to cease consuming audio buffers and
continuously loop the current audio driver until interrupted, and then
it takes a minute to drain (normal drain timeout).

send 44kHz x 16bit x 2 channel sound to the card, and do other
things on the system. It'll hang.

I don't know yet, I will look at it & fix it, but I wanted to
file this as a warning to others with GUS cards.
