Is the i386 NetBSD 1.0 floppy disk driver broken? I have some 3.5"
720KB disks that I would like to use but I suspect I am only getting
half the capacity out of the character device.

A multifile tar archive of a 779 block (1K) directory to /dev/rfd0e
works OK but requires 3 disks, not the expected 2.

An attempted tar of the generic kernel file (659600 bytes) to
/dev/rfd0e eventually fails after what sounds like successful writing
activity with the message:

tar: only wrote 0 of 10240 bytes to /dev/rfd0e

However, copying the same kernel file to the block device /dev/fd0e
mounted using option -t msdos does succeed.

Jim
