>Description:
my modem on com1 (now tty01 i suppose) has worked poorly since the
upgrade. uucico accesses the port fine. however, both tip and kermit
hang indefinitely when run on that port. it should be noted that when
they are run, the CS light on the modem comes on, but there is no further
activity. kermit is an older 179. tip is the default that comes with
1.0 install. a new compile of kermit (189) was done after the install.
it too hangs indefinitely. however, if it is ^Ced, it (unlike the older
compile) somehow manages to get fully connected to its line. at that
point, it works normally until kermit is exited (usually with a ^\q) at
which point it again hangs until a ^C is pushed.
>How-To-Repeat:
problem occurs every time kermit or tip is run with the modem on
tty01.
>Fix:
work around with newer kermit is described above. fix is unknown.
